Catholics have been organising protests and rosary vigils for weeks. On 28 March, an anonymous man allegedly damaged one of the paintings with spray paint and a knife and injured the painter in an alleged scuffle. The painter claimed to have been "stabbed" but only had a scratch on his chin. There is no picture of the damage to the painting or the alleged wounds on the painter.
