Fue la primera y ás importante colaboradora de su marido en su obra de implantación del cristianismo entre los húngaros, fundando y enriqueciendo con magníficos dones los monasteriso e iglesias del reino, En 1031 murió su hijo Emerico, en 1038, cuando tenía 42 años, murió también su santo cónyuge. Vinnieron muy pronto momentos tristes, porque el sucesor de san Esteban, Pedro Orseolo, la privó de sus bienes, e incluso en 1045 fue empujada a abandonar Hungría. Volvió a Baviera, de donde procedía, y se refugió en el monasterio benedictino de Niedenburg en Passau, donde llegó a ser abadesa. Murió hacia el 1060 y fue sepultada en el mismo monasterio.
