On August 5, settlers entered the property of a Christian family belonging to the local parish, cut through the fence and brought a flock of sheep onto the family’s land. The incident follows reports of fires, damage to farmland and repeated incursions onto private property. Around 1,200 Christians remain in Taybeh, a West Bank town traditionally identified with the biblical Ephraim. Parish priest Bashar Fawadleh has appealed for international attention: “Do not forget Taybeh! Taybeh must not vanish into silence.”

Bishop Mark A. Eckman, 67, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, will bring an end to the traditional Latin Mass at St. Titus Church in Aliquippa after nearly 20-years. Bishop Eckman was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Pittsburgh in 2021. In June 2025, Leo XIV promoted him to Bishop of Pittsburgh. Brigitte Stegemann was an 83-year-old great-grandmother and a Christian. On July 10, she died through Canada’s Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) program in Ontario. But while her granddaughter and longtime legal representative, Brigitte Kranendonk, was away on vacation, medical personnel discussed MAiD with Stegemann.
