I'm bothered that this oft quoted maxim is missing one word - the adjective repentant. As in repentant sinners. Without that it seems to approve sin. I'm reminded of St. Paul who said: "What then shall we say? Shall we persist in sin that grace may abound? Of course not!" Romans 6:1
