No Conversions? Yesterday Pope Francis spontaneously decided to baptize a 56-year-old catechumen whose son died in the terrible April ferry accident. Nevertheless German speaking Vatican Radio published an interview with the Korean theologian Serena Kim Hae-kyung of Daegu University who claimed that – quote - "the Pope does not see other human beings as people who need to convert."
Francis Against Abortion: Pope Francis made a strong, albeit silent anti-abortion statement Saturday during his visit to South Korea, stopping to pray at a monument for aborted babies in a community dedicated to caring for people with the sort of severe genetic disabilities that are often used to justify abortions. Francis bowed his head in prayer before the monument and spoke with a pro-life activist with no arms and no legs.
Spiritual War: The visit of Pope Francis in South Korea is unsettling to the Protestants in the country. The article mentions the Presbyterian …More

If this group considers the Pope (and the Church of Christ) to be its enemy, then, I guess, they also say something about themselves.

Calling Francis the Enemy King is just plain stupid to these Protestants. They resent the Pope and how popular he is and think of him as an foe when he really gets along good with most Non Catholics. Call in him a King is dumb since the Pope is no King but the Vicar of Christ on Earth. They think he is poaching for converts like Anglicans did with Benedict and his decision to allow Anglicans to form …More

Call in him a King is dumb since the Pope is no King but the Vicar of Christ on Earth. They think he is poaching for converts like Anglicans did with Benedict and his decision to allow Anglicans to form the Ordinariate in 2009. In a sense they are right. The Pope is the King of all Christianity.

@Temperance: I agree, at this point, we have enough problems in the Church, there is no need to put down the Evangelicals.

Korean Protestants have had a few scandals recently and they have been involved quite a bit with those in power. The Catholic Church in Korea is run according to pre-Vatican II principles.

Lol! Evangelicals a "nuisance to society"?! Why is that?! I do agree partially to this, some Evangelicals are obnoxious and are even hostile to Catholicism, but these are a small minority. I find generally that they are good moral people striving to live the Gospel. How do I know this? I graduated from Liberty University, the largest Evangelical institution in the world, over 50,000 students! They …More

I graduated from Liberty University, the largest Evangelical institution in the world, over 50,000 students! They are very good people, they put most Catholics to shame! But some can be hostile though you have to watch out and know your faith. But lets be care not to condemn all Evangelicals.

I agree with Pope Francis that the main task of a pope is not to preach against abortion. His main task is to preach conversion. Regarding abortion he has e.g. to make sure that the witness if the Church is not darkend. We still have Catholic hospitals where abortions are performed. We have the German bishops who distribute the morning-after-pill. In these fields the Pope has to "preach" about …More
