You are actually promoting the desecration on the Holy Eucharist, the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is amazing that you are so hung up on the words "Take and eat" and not "This is my Body" and "This is the Chalice of my Blood". Maybe if you can get through your brain fog and meditate/reflect on those words and Who it is that says them you just might let go of the bone that you are growling on. How do you know, were you there? In the Novus Ordo Mass almost all beauty and reverence has gone out the windows that Vatican II opened to let the world in. "Communion in the hand" is one of the major reasons for the loss of faith and reverence for the True Presence of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Sacred Host, that and lay people distributing Holy Communion. What did pre-1955 Holy Week look like?
The pre-1955 Rite of Holy Week is still used by some Traditional communities/groups. I have experienced it several times but all the Liturgies at the reformed times - which I believe are much better and make more liturgical sense. I also believe that the '55 reform was necessary and good. The 1962 Missal also has all the Passion accounts read during Holy Week on the same day as the pre-55 Missal. I use the 1962 Missal for Sunday and weekday Mass in private as I am a cancelled/retired priest and cannot celebrate Holy Week Liturgies in private. I usually go to a monastery where they are celebrated with the pre-55 Missal at the reformed times. This year I could not go and instead I attended a Franciscan Friary for Novus Ordo Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord's Supper and Good Friday Passion. I did not go back for the Easter Vigil - I just couldn't do it!

I am glad Pope Leo XIV has carried out the washing of the feet in a traditional, more dignified and proper way. But, I just don't get this "kissing the feet" thing. The Gospel of St. John tells us Jesus washed the feet of His Apostles, it says nothing about kissing them. I have seen this kissing before and I find it cringey! It comes across - to me - as one-upping Our Lord Jesus, a kind of false humility (like the Francis) or virtue-signaling! Personally, I have never kissed feet during the washing of the feet. In the past it was done (or had the possibility of been done) at a separate ceremony. Now days in many places the whole thing is abused and a bit of a circus.
