This event was perhaps not unexpected, since the Archbishop had already confirmed to the Rector, Canon Francesco Saverio Venuto, some time ago his availability to meet with the community made up of the brothers and sisters of the Archconfraternity of the Misericordia and the faithful. The opportunity finally arrived on Sexagesima Sunday, when Cardinal Repole, in person, addressed the Mass. After the solemn entrance—to the singing of the Ecce Sacerdos Magnus, admirably performed by the Choir— Repole attended the Holy Mass, celebrated by the Rector, in choral attire.
