The Nativity of Saint John the Baptist- the full history of a Feast that is forgotten: the Christmas of Summer

The Christmas of Winter and the Christmas of Summer

During the first three centuries of its existence, the Church concentrated her attention on the very person of the Word made Flesh as it needed, above all else, to become gently and slowly aware of the infinite riches of light and grace contained in the holy humanity of Christ Jesus, in whom resides that fullness of Divine life whose superabundance flows into all the members of his Mystical Body. To adore Christ as the only Son of God, to recognise and invoke him as the source of all holiness, to follow and imitate him as the model of perfect life—this, one might say, was the sole concern …

Zelensky to skip key ‘Ukraine recovery’ event over Nazi-collaborator scandal

Kiev’s veneration of Ukrainian nationalists who supported Hitler’s Reich and perpetrated a genocide against Poles during WWII has triggered diplomatic and political outrage
Vladimir Zelensky will skip a major gathering of Kiev’s key backers in Poland to keep it free of “scandals,” the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has said. His absence is linked to Kiev’s honoring of Nazi-collaborators who murdered over 100,000 Polish men, women, and children during World War II.
Tensions between Ukraine and Poland – a key supporter of Kiev – escalated in recent weeks when Zelensky named a special-forces unit after the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), which collaborated with Nazi Germany during WWII and whose fighters killed tens of thousands of Polish civilians.
Polish President Karol Nawrocki responded by stripping Zelensky of the Order of the White Eagle, Poland’s highest honor, prompting several senior Ukrainian officials to renounce their own Polish honors.
At the time, Nawrocki argued that “…

FSSPX Addresses Rome Again: "One Day Honest Discussion with Holy See"

The superiors of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X published today another Open Letter to Leo XIV and to the Cardinals. The letter is no call to action nor a negotiating proposal but rather another public reaffirmation of the Fraternity's long-standing position. Attached is a 28-page document (English below) with the Catholic faith. This document repeatedly affirms strong papal authority adding that the pope possesses "supreme, full, immediate, and universal jurisdiction". The letter.
Most Holy Father,
Most Reverend Eminences,
On the eve of the Consistory at the end of this month, and just days before the episcopal consecrations scheduled for 1 July in Écône, it seems to us that the time has come for the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X to make a full profession of Catholic Faith, which we wish to place in the hands of Your Holiness and each one of the Cardinals.
Today the Church suffers under the pressure of new forces, coming both from within and without, which push her in …More

Profession of Faith #50 upholds Mary as Co-Redemptrix and Mediatrix: 50. "I profess that, thus united to her Divine Son, she merited by congruity in her Compassion what Christ merited by strict justice in His Passion; not as the principal cause of the Redemption, but as a subordinate associate, dependent upon and wholly relative to her Son, in one and the same act of the Redemption of our souls. It is in this sense that Catholic piety, supported by the traditional teaching of Popes and theologians, rightly calls her, by reason of this Compassion, ‘Co-redemptrix’, and consequently ‘Universal Mediatrix’"

The Great Catholic Monarch Of Prophecy

http://greatcatholicmonarch.blogspot.com/2...ic-monarch.html
from my blog:
There is a mysterious and intriguing figure in Catholic eschatology known as the Great Monarch. He and the events of his life are mentioned in various books of Sacred Scripture, the private revelations of Saints and Mystics, and the speculations of a few Catholic authors. I have known about him for about eight years, yet it was not up until about three years ago that I became consumed with discovering more about him. As an introduction I would like to share a general list of things I have learned about him:
* He will be born in Europe of a royal French and German blood line, shortly before the beginning of the first part of the Tribulation.
* According to Providence his life will be enmeshed with the events of the first part of the Tribulation.
* In his youth he will be forced into exile as a result of the …

3 .The tabernacle
And I came to a tabernacle, the inside of which was made of the hardest steel.
And entering in, I performed works of light where before I had done deeds of darkness.
In this tabernacle, therefore, towards the north, I set up a pillar of unpolished iron on which I hung small fans of various feathers moving back and forth. I found manna, and I ate it. Towards the east I built a fortification of square stones, kindling a fire within. Here I drank myrrh-flavoured wine with grape-must.
Towards the south I made a tower of square stones on which I hung red shields; in the windows I placed trumpets of ivory. And in the middle of the tower I poured out honey and prepared a …More

Synodal Rome Co-Organizes Antichrist Conference That Brings Together Buddhists, Christians, Hindus, Jains, and Sikhs for the Sake of “Fraternity”

Before Vatican II, such an event would have been inconceivable.
The Synodal Church’s Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue is currently co-hosting (June 23–24) a conference titled Buddhists, Christians, Hindus, Jains and Sikhs in Europe: Building Fraternity through Dialogue and Collaboration, and yes, it is as antichrist and anti-Catholic as it sounds.
The opening remarks of “Cardinal” George Jacob Koovakad, Prefect of the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue, provided yet another startling illustration of the profound gulf separating the religion practiced and promoted by the post-conciliar hierarchy from the Catholic faith taught for centuries before the Second Vatican Council.
Addressing the conference, “Cardinal” Koovakad presented religious diversity not as a problem to be overcome through conversion to the true Faith, but as a positive richness to be celebrated. He called upon representatives of different religions to unite in promoting fraternity, peace, justice, and the …

Bishop of Northampton Charged with Two Counts of Rape

Bishop David Oakley, 70, of Northampton, England, has been charged with two counts of rape involving a girl under the age of 16, according to Staffordshire Police. He was ordained a bishop on March 19, 2020 (pictured).
The charges come after his arrest in September 2025, following the reporting of an allegation to police.
Monsignor Oakley is scheduled to appear before Cannock Magistrates' Court on August 14.
In a statement, the Diocese of Northampton confirmed that the charges stem from an investigation into what it described as "non-recent safeguarding allegations."
"We understand that this will be very distressing for all concerned but cannot comment further on an active legal process," the diocese said.
There has been no public statement from Bishop Oakley admitting or denying the charges. He is presumed innocent.

Empty Words: Vatican Denies Indult for Ubiquitous Lay Preaching

The Vatican has rejected – on paper only – a request from the German Bishops' Conference to permit lay people to preach during the Eucharist by means of an "indult."
A June 17 letter, written by Cardinal Arthur Roche, Prefect of the Dicastery for Divine Worship, was published on Dbk.de.
The German bishops' proposal sought permission to allow lay employees, in the usual exceptional circumstances, to deliver a "homiletic reflection" following the Gospel during the Eucharist.
In his reply, Cardinal Roche claims with canon law that the homily is an integral part of the liturgy [only since Pius X] and is reserved to a priest or deacon. He stresses that the reservation of the homily to clergy is not merely a disciplinary norm and does not depend on theological competence or communication skills.
Cardinal Roche disputes the claim that current pastoral circumstances require an exception. Where a priest is present to celebrate the Eucharist, he is also present to preach. Where no priest is …More

Never Doubt God's Hidden Purpose
Zechariah and Elizabeth’s story teaches us that God’s plans may not align with our expectations, but He has greater purposes in mind. Jeremiah’s story reminds us that God calls us from the womb and equips us for His purposes, even if we feel unworthy or incapable. We are all called to be saints, to love God, and to be a light in the world, and God’s grace will enable us to fulfill His will.
