Canada Barring Military Chaplains from Praying at Military Ceremonies: On July 29, Canada's [totalitarian] government introduced a new Canadian Armed Forces policy requiring military chaplains to replace prayers with non-religious "spiritual reflections" at official ceremonies, including Remembrance Day, graduations, and change of command events. The government says the change is intended to uphold state religious neutrality and make ceremonies inclusive of all beliefs.

J.K. Rowling: If you don’t think he’s a woman, you’re transphobic. When he claimed to be a woman, he became a woman. He now belongs in women’s changing rooms, bathrooms, hospital wards, prison cells and rape support centres. If you try and differentiate between him and a trans woman who looks more convincing as a woman, you are promoting patriarchal beauty norms. If you admit to seeing an aggressive and possibly unbalanced man in this video, you’re saying all trans people are mentally ill predators. If you refuse to let him into female-only spaces, you’re removing his right to exist. If you suggest he could comfortably use male facilities, you secretly want him assaulted. If you refuse to call him ‘she’, you are guilty of unpardonable cruelty. If you’re a woman who wouldn’t want to share a locker room with him, or a man who wouldn’t want your daughter, sister or mother to get undressed in close proximity to him, you belong to the far-right. If you point out that there is no objective …Kara
An suggestive exhibition by the Lecoq artists' collective was withdrawn from the church Chapelle du Bourg in Arradon, Bretagne, northwestern France, on 30 July. The exhibition, titled Le Poulailler 4, was scheduled to run from 27 July to 2 August 2026 and had been organized by the municipality as part of its cultural programme. It included photographs depicting two men kissing, a man wearing pink underwear in a suggestive pose, a photograph of male buttocks. Only after complaints about this homosexual propaganda, the municipality proposed that the most controversial photographs either be removed from the chapel or transferred to a nearby municipal exhibition space. The Lecoq collective declined both proposals and removed the entire exhibition on 30 July, before its scheduled closing date. Photographer Nikolaz Le Coq stated that he had not considered the photographs to be a profanation of the chapel and said he had [alledgely] not anticipated that they would be perceived in that way. Cardinal Zuppi Wants "a Mediation" on Euthanasia Legislation. Worse than Germany: Speaking on Luca Zaia's podcast Il Fienile in late July 2026, Cardinal Matteo Zuppi of Bologna, President of the Italian Bishops' Conference, said: "I know well that those who are ill don't wait for the law. There are also regions acting in a fragmented way. Politics should find a mediation. I've met sick people who wanted to leave. In these cases, respect is needed. The only choice you can make is to stay close to those who are suffering, which doesn't mean giving up your principles."

Darshak Rana @thedarshakrana A houseplant just changed everything we thought we knew about consciousness. In 1966, Cleve Backster, a CIA interrogation specialist with a polygraph machine, was looking for ways to time how long it took different substances to travel up through plant tissue. So, he attached electrodes to a dracaena plant in his office and watered it, expecting to see the electrical conductivity change as water moved up the stem. Instead, the polygraph needle started tracing the exact pattern it makes when a human experiences an emotional response. Backster stared at the readout. Plants don't have nervous systems. They don't have brains. The signal made no biological sense. So he decided to test something that made even less sense. He walked across the room, looked at the plant, and thought about burning one of its leaves with a match. The instant the thought formed in his mind, before he moved toward the plant, before he struck a match, before he did anything physical, the …Kara
I saw a few experiments on plants. There were three of them in one video. Another had two. Everyone who passed by the plants the plants remained beautiful. The last person tore up the first plant and walked passed the second one. Later on they had the same people pass by the plant he didn't tear up. When it was his turn to pass the beautiful plant it started to shrivel up. And it showed fear! I once gave flowers to someone. and someone else passed by them as the person was holding them. The flowers started to die and wilt before our eyes. Once this person passed by them. Then they started to look beautiful again. I have a better experience that happened personally to me. It was very scary then. But now I learned from it. Which I had done then instead of waiting so long.
