Leo XIV wants the Church to be an "open house" where "everyone has a place". Today, Pope Leo XIV published his video message for October. The prayer intention, using the usual buzzwords, is about mental health ministry, calling on the Church to listen without judging and support those who are suffering. The key phrase is: "May your Church be an open house, a safe space where everyone has a place — a community that accompanies and never excludes; that listens without judging; and that draws near without fear." #newsKcoeptmmtq
Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández will publish a new document this October addressing the growing rupture in the transmission of Christianity between generations. It calls for “a Church capable of welcoming everyone in a different way, precisely as they are.” Requested by Pope Francis in his final days, the text was continued with Pope Leo XIV’s encouragement. Fernández announced the forthcoming document in a September 9 address to newly appointed bishops, previewing its main themes and saying it would be published the following month.
Leo XIV Appoints Bishop Who Celebrates Jewish Passover with Seminarians. Pope Leo XIV today appointed Bishop Ramón Salazar Estrada, 63, until now auxiliary bishop of Guadalajara, as the new Bishop of Mazatlán, Mexico. Salazar was ordained a priest in 1993 for the Archdiocese of Guadalajara. He holds a doctorate in moral theology from the Alphonsian Academy in Rome. Allegations of Homosexual activity at the seminary In the Archdiocese of Guadalajara there is an anonymous church watchblog, GdlSantaIPecadora.blogspot.com. According to this source the seminary was suffering in 2012 from “delicate cases of homosexuality”, alongside alcoholism. In May 2014 the blog alleged an internal network of seminarians arranging homosexual encounters by phone, connections with priests outside the seminary, and protection or tolerance by some formators. It also claimed that at least seven seminarians had been dismissed after accusations concerning homosexuality. Salazar was already closely involved in …Bivule
Leo XIV praises foundational Lutheran document: The Augsburg Confession by Melanchthon. Today, Leo XIV received a delegation of the Lutheran World Federation. He said: “Renewed communion in the apostolic faith, in the sacraments [!], and in the ministries is the goal of our ecumenical journey of grace.” Leo XIV focused particularly on the year 2030, which will mark the 500th anniversary of the Augsburg Confession, presenting it as an opportunity to advance Catholic-Lutheran ecumenism and the pursuit of “full, visible unity.” He claimed: “The Augsburg Confession was originally intended as a document of reconciliation within the Church. Only later did it come to be understood as a text of divisive confessionalization.” He wants to “succeed in affirming together the pre-confessional ecumenical potential of the Confessio Augustana.” Main Objections to the Confessio Augustana The Augsburg Confession (Confessio Augustana) was presented to Emperor Charles V at the Diet of Augsburg on 25 June …Bivule
Oops! John Paul II, June 25, 1982, called the Augsburg Confession one of the "great and common foundations of our Christian Faith." Leo is just following "St." John Paul "the Great."
Minnesota priest leaves diocese for SSPX, bishop begins canonical process
US priest affiliates with FSSPX, canonical proceedings started. Rev. Philip Conklin, 38, a priest of St. Paul and Minneapolis, has affiliated with the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X (FSSPX), and his archbishop has initiated a canonical process against him. It will presumably see the priest declared excommunicated. Archbishop Bernard Hebda wrote on September 30 in the archdiocese’s newspaper: “After confirming with Father Conklin that he does not intend to cease this affiliation, I have felt compelled to commence a canonical process to clarify the situation and his status.” Rev. Conklin was ordained a priest by Archbishop Hebda relatively recently, on May 25, 2024. In March 2026, he went on a six-month leave of absence to discern his priestly vocation. There are some interesting biographical details. Before entering seminary, he trained as a pilot, served for six years in the U.S. Air Force as an air traffic controller, and subsequently worked as a civilian air traffic contractor at …Bivule
It appears that any priest who is loyal to traditional Catholicism will face severe penalties. But liberal, heretical and immoral clerics will be advanced.
“I was addressing the secretary general [Rutte, asking] ‘Is there any proof, real proof intelligence services are providing, something on the table, that Russia is getting ready for something?’ And there is actually none,” Sinkevicius said. Of course there is NONE. There never is. Just empty threats and lies. And once again we have another person to destroy propaganda spread by the West and US. And a few on gtv. If I were to post everything of the truth I see, hear and read, gtv would be overwhelmed with it. So I post occasionally something once in awhile. Sometimes back to back.
Former Italian priest Luca Favarin, 54, has become a father. After 25 years as a priest in the Diocese of Padua, Favarin welcomed his son Zaccaria on September 28. “If necessary, I will have the courage to die for you, because I have seen the most beautiful thing: the birth of a child,” he wrote on facebook. Favarin became known for his work with illegal immigrants, prisoners and people on the margins, as well as his commitment to homosexual privileges. He also denied Catholic teaching on assisted dying. After conflicts with his diocese and suspension, he left the clerical state in 2023. In August, Corriere.it asked Favarin about marriage and he replied: “It’s not a priority at the moment.” The mother of his child is described as his partner, a woman he met through social-sector work. #newsVepspjixwq
‘Opinions of the Doctors…’ – ‘Purgatory’ by Rev. Shouppe; 1929; Chapter XXII; p. 69-70, part III Chapter XXII ~ Duration of Purgatory — Opinions of the Doctors — Bellarmine — Calculations of Father Mumford. Let us take a moderate estimate, and suppose that you commit about ten faults a day ; at the end of 365 days you will have a sum of 3650 faults. Let us diminish, and, to facilitate the calculation, place it at 3000 per year. At the end often years this will amount to 30,000, and at the end of twenty years to 60,000. Suppose that of these 60,000 faults you have expiated one half by penance and good works, there will still remain 30,000 to be atoned for. Let us continue our hypothesis : You die after these twenty years of virtuous life, and appear before God with a debt of 30,000 faults, which you must discharge in Purgatory. How much time will you need to accomplish this expiation? Suppose, on an average, each fault requires one hour of Purgatory. This measure is very moderate, if we …Bivule
"Let us continue our hypothesis : You die after these twenty years of virtuous life, and appear before God with a debt of 30,000 faults, which you must discharge in Purgatory. How much time will you need to accomplish this expiation? Suppose, on an average, each fault requires one hour of Purgatory. This measure is very moderate, if we judge by the revelations of the saints ; but at any rate this will give you a Purgatory of 30,000 hours. Now, do you know how many years these 30,000 hours represent? Three years, three months, and fifteen days."
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) spoke from the pulpit at a Catholic church this week, co-opting the authority of the Church to accuse conservatives of making Catholics “turn against … our trans brothers and sisters and neighbors and siblings.”
New Zealand Bishop warns priests not to import practices from the 1962 Mass into the Novus Ordo. Bishop Stephen Lowe of Auckland, New Zealand, has rediscovered the liturgical rubrics. In a September 11 letter, he asked priests to review how they actually celebrate the Eucharist in light of the General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM). Key passage: “In particular, I would like to underline Fr Paul’s comment that we should not be adding things back into the Liturgy that were part of the 1962 Latin Mass.” The letter follows workshops led by American liturgist Fr Paul Turner and organised by the New Zealand Catholic Bishops Conference across all six dioceses. #newsQkshdczbqd
Gloria.tv serves the Church by giving a voice to the faithful and to the truth. That independence comes at a price - quite literally. Gloria.tv serves its users - readers like you - with its own social-media technology. While editorial websites watch their readership plummet, Gloria.tv is growing and, according to Cloudflare Radar, ranks among the 10,000 largest websites in the world. No other Catholic media outlet ranks there. But here’s the straight talk: Having lots of users doesn’t pay our bills. There are no ads, and we serve our users for free. That’s how we want it. Gloria.tv depends on the generosity of a small group of ordinary faithful - many of them pensioners and praying widows. And to be blunt: This project runs on a very small budget. But not on no budget. That is why this autumn we are asking for your help again. If you want to help Gloria.tv, you can donate by PayPal or credit card through Kindful: Click here to donate Thank you very much for helping us carry on. #…Bivule
