On October 23, gunmen attacked a Greek Orthodox church in Hammoud, near Karak, Jordan, opening fire on Christians attending a funeral. Initial reports indicate seven people were killed and 34 injured, some seriously. Jordanian authorities described the shooting as a terrorist attack.
